Laken - support for pregnancy, post viral fatigue and asthma I have thoroughly enjoyed the yoga therapy with Ellen and am excited to keep working with her in the final trimester of my pregnancy. The sessions have helped immensely with my breathing patterns, asthma and post-viral shortness of breath. The guided meditations have helped with the anxiety I have had from a difficult first birth and the combination of postures and breath have significantly improved my pelvic floor and episodes of stress incontinence. I have seen a notable change in both my mental and physical health since starting and my husband has remarked the same. The yoga therapy provided both an anchor and compassionate guidance and I now feel more resilient and resourced to support myself in the future.
Dave - post traumatic anxiety Initially I did not really know what to expect or whether yoga therapy would help support my anxiety. But the sessions were offered in a very intuitive and caring way, with good communication throughout. I felt completely at ease talking about personal issues and how I was feeling, in a non-judgemental environment, with someone I trusted. Overall I felt the five sessions of therapy were enormously beneficial. I now feel my anxiety significantly lessened and I have much better resources to support it and 'name' it when it arises. It made me realise how important 'in-person' and 1-2-1 practices are, after more than 2 years of online yoga, which has been excellent but in a different way.
Laura - insomnia, mild depression, anxiety My insomnia was an outcome of disrupted sleep from breastfeeding, I hadn't slept properly for 2 ½ years. My sleep was so poor I had to take several months off work, it caused brain fog and I was feeling depressed. I could be awake for up to 3 ½ hours in the night or wake up around 5 times. After working with Elly in our first session, I actually slept the whole night until 4am. My sleep is so improved after several months of sessions, it is incredible. I have a much better evening and sleep routine which Ellen has helped me build. I used to wake every day dreading bed time and the impact of our sessions means I no longer feel this way. My quality of life has changed significantly. I am much happier and feel healthier and I know this is down to the work we have done together. I would like to say a huge thank you to Ellen. When I first began working with her I was really struggling and felt disconnected from life. Work felt impossible and looking after my toddler was unpleasant as I wanted to crawl back into bed at any opportunity. Having Ellen there as a support, to focus on my sleep and how anxious I was feeling was amazing. She was really dedicated to supporting me. I never had voga therapv and didn't know what to expect but I would give it 10/10. It felt like it supported many aspects of life and gave me more resources to continue with after the sessions finished.
